Washingtonians Against Beverage Taxes is a coalition of Washington state citizens against  the proposed excise tax on bottled water and soda pop. Our coalition – an ever-growing group that includes individual concerned citizens and consumers, as well as, businesses, suppliers, and retailers – aims to stop unfair and misdirected beverage tax hikes. This tax increase will cost more in lost jobs than it will generate in new revenue. This discriminatory tax will also have a devastating impact on our state’s beverage industry, including members of our organization. We believe Olympia needs to find a more effective – and fair – way to raise funds, through a sales tax that doesn’t wrongly target any single segment of the economy.
